Watershed Stories Workshop at Sugar House Park

  • Sugarhouse Park 1330 2100 South Salt Lake City, UT, 84106 United States (map)

Watershed Stories is a communal public art project that will reawaken the Seven Canyons Sanctuary in Liberty Park with a sound installation that reintroduces the sounds of the Salt Lake Valley’s streams to the now empty fountain. As part of the project we invite all members of the public to share your stories, reflections, and perspectives on our relationship with water in Salt Lake and the Great Salt Lake watershed!

In April 2025 Watershed Stories will host free public workshops. Through artistic actions that engage each of the senses, participants will be encouraged to reflect upon our relationship with the waters of the Salt Lake Valley and Great Salt Lake.

At the end participants will be able to respond with their personal reflections, memories, and/or stories about the valley’s waterways. Recordings will later be presented as part of the sound installation in the Seven Canyons Sanctuary.

The project is funded by the Wake the Great Salt Lake project grant, supported by the Salt Lake Arts Council, Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office, and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
